Role and Responsibilities

The District Social Welfare Department works for the welfare, protection and upliftment of socially and economically weaker sections of society. The department implements various welfare schemes and social security programmes of the Central Government and State Government for the benefit of senior citizens, women, children, persons with disabilities, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and other vulnerable groups.

The department functions under the supervision of the District Administration and coordinates with various Government departments and agencies to ensure effective implementation of social welfare programmes at the district level.


1. Social Security and Pension Schemes
